Farming Philosophy

In nature, everything’s connected. That’s why, on our farm, we strive to use practices that take care of our soil, grass, water, pollinators, and even worms.

We cannot survive without the soil. Even a fast-food burger ultimately comes from the dirt under our feet, even if there are a few steps in between.

For this reason, our philosophy is that the soil always comes first. Our goal is to not only maintain soil health, but build and replenish it with anything we do on the farm. No matter our pursuits or products, investing in the soil allows us to be flexible and sustainable.

Our farm also tries to preserve some of the natural connections between animals, plants, and bugs that you might see in nature. The chickens support the livestock by sanitizing the pastures. The cattle and the honey bees share in their enjoyment of the clover in the pastures. And so on and so forth.
